 This is what Neha thought of her Internship with EWeb Solutions.

During the summer I did my internship at EWeb Solutions under the supervision of my employer Gareth Murdock. E-web solutions provide web designing and development solutions that will help maximize the growth of a business. They also help company’s website reach full potential by providing them with innovative website designing techniques and intelligent internet marketing strategies. Gareth also owns another business which sells printer ink cartridges together with Paul Johnson. I learned many things during my internship especially how important the role of IT is in business. I remember when the computer Gareth was using had a virus and because of that he could not access his computer. The productivity was very slow and he could not get any detail of his client because they were all saved on his computer. I also learned how to tackle similar problems and what fast procedure to use to solve problems like this. Gareth had saved everything in a back-up. That’s why he was immediately back to business with a new computer.
The internship helped me learn how to use new and advanced software (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Visual Studios, Website editor etc) that are essential if you want to get a job in IT field. My knowledge on this software will help me get a job that I want to in the future. The main problem that I have with myself is my communication skills. I got to deal with different types of customers who came in with orders. This helped me improve my weak personal skills which were communication and listening skills. I also learn to work in team and follow instructions given to me. I was more focused at my work then before which is the reason why I completed all my given tasks before deadline. Since Gareth and Paul were working together, they had two other businesses as well such as Newry Ink and JPS design. I got to work in three different areas for example I updated website of Newry Ink and took in orders online. For JPS design I got to edit images for clients using Photoshop and used Access to store data of customers. So it was a great experience for me to be able to work in three different working environments.

When I first started the internship I was very nervous and less friendly however the working environment was very comfortable and fun that I easily adjusted with my employers. My employers were very friendly and easy-going. When I was learning how to use the software they used, they selflessly gave up their time to teach me how to use it properly. They gave me lots of freedom around the working area for example they allowed me to wear informal but appropriate dress, they offered me food and beverage. They made sure I was comfortable with the tasks given to me and helped me with my tasks which was why I easily finished my work.

I thought the internship will be very hard and I felt like I was not ready for the challenges it had for me but I did not wanted to lose an opportunity like this so I applied for it. I don't regret applying for it at all because it has made me more responsible and independent. My attitude towards work has been changed to positive and I am prepared for jobs similar to my internship. The internship has helped me decide what career path is best suitable or me. I had few doubts If I could fit in or not working in a IT field but now I can see myself working in IT related field in the future because of the experience I had from in the internship. I enjoyed the internship a lot even though it was sometime challenging however it has helped me very much to develop my skills and senses.
