Welcome to the SRC Career Academy Blog.
Southern Regional College is the largest Further and Higher Education College outside of Belfast in Northern Ireland. We are now working in partnership with Career Academies UK.
Career Academies UK and SRC are working together to raise the aspirations of 16-19 year old Business and IT Students. Career Academy students follow a rigorous two-year programme, alongside BTEC National Extended Diplomas college study , enabling them to progress to higher education or the world of work.
Around the UK, 3,000 employee volunteers from over 1000 organisations contribute time and skills to the Career Academy programme. Some volunteers have a long history of working in business; others have just graduated from university.

All enjoy the company of young people and genuinely want to support and guide them by sharing their knowledge and experience.
Within an overarching Career Academy framework, we work flexibly with each employer to best meet the needs of their particular business and local community. But, for example, you or your colleagues might like to:
- mentor a student
- speak to a group of young people in their classroom
- host a tour of your workplace
- join a Career Academy Local Advisory Board
- commitment to supporting communities across the UK
This programme not only helps us to identify potential talented employees of the future, but also contributes to our corporate responsibility agenda.
